Since
the Industrial Revolution, the Wuerttemburg region has been
traditionally associated with textiles. The region, in particular
the city of Heubach, is considered by many as the cradle of
corset makers. Our founder, Karl Doelker, also originated from
the city of Heubach.
He later relocated to the edge of the Swabian mountains near
Gomaringen, where he worked for a time with Kinder & Co
(Bellavita) which today no longer exists.

| On
July 10, 1917, he opened his own business, the Carl
Doelker Corset Factory, which was later renamed
NATURANA; a change begins in the town of Gomaringen. |

The
people of the town, especially the women, gradually
begin to find employment at this new factory and
no longer have to endure the brutal 11 kilometre
commute to Reutlingen by foot in order to work.
